Nature excursion
Chleb (1646 m) in Malá Fatra National Park The crystalline core of the Mala Fatra Mts. belongs to the basement of the Tatric Unit in the Western Carpathians. An extraordinary variety of geological and climatic conditions together with vertical fragmentation has resulted in a great diversity of plant and animal communities. As part of the excursion, you will take the cable car and walk along the ridge of Malá Fatra; lunch will be provided in a mountain hut. You will enjoy the outstanding countryside and unique views of the whole Vrátna valley. The approximate duration of the route is 4-5 hours. The route is moderately difficult. Hiking shoes and warm clothing are strongly recommended. In the case of unfavourable weather in the Malá Fatra Mts., the nature excursion will take place in Súľovské skaly. The Súľovské Vrchy Mts. belong to the Central Western Carpathians. They are situated in the Middle Váh Valley in the north-western part of Slovakia. The Súľovské Vrchy Mts. are part of the Súľov Conglomerates. Weathering has resulted in the typical modelling of conglomerate rocks and the formation. The approximate duration of the route is 4-5 hours, the elevation is 641 m. You will enjoy outstanding views of rock formations of various shapes and sizes, and lunch will be provided in a restaurant. The route is moderately difficult. Hiking shoes are recommended. |

Cultural–historical excursion
Trenčín castle – landscape of the White Carpathians with old fruit tree varieties – Bošácka pálenica distillery. Trenčín castle was built in the 11th century as a borderland stronghold to protect the important Váh fords and Carpathian passes. Today there are exhibition rooms and many of the museum´s expositions are inside the castle. After the Trenčín castle tour our excursion will continue through the landscape of White Carpathians with old fruit tree varieties, and to Bošácka pálenica distillery. Bošácka slivovica has over 300 years of tradition. The excursion will offer an insight into the production of distillates using traditional technology using a unique copper still. Lunch will be provided in a restaurant. |
